Quick Pole™ Software
Through its easy to understand User Interface, Quick Pole helps you analyze Pole Line Structures under a wide range of load conditions dictated by CSA and the NESC to ensure that the poles and soil have adequate strength, safety factors, on-pole separations, mid-span separations and ground clearances. It identifies areas of weakness and can make recommendations on the size of the Pole, anchors, guys plus other helpful factors.
Quick Pole provides users with a quick summary of the analysis results, graphical visualization of the results and areas of concern, plus extensive detailed reporting of the results for further analysis and to meet the documentation requirements of many regulations. All of these results are also easily imported into other documents or reports you may need to create for other purposes.

Whether you are trying to create or validate Framing Standards for your company, or you are evaluating existing Pole Structure situations, Quick Pole is well suited to the task. Quick Pole has extensive knowledge of both Power Utility and Communications Utility materials and common practices; a feature that is very difficult to find in other products. For instance, knowledge of the proper tensions, weights and wind loads to use when multiple specific communication cables are lashed to a single communications messenger is easy for Quick Pole.
Quick Pole supports the use of company endorsed Framing Standards, Wire Standards, Equipment Standards and a few other company-specific settings to adapt to your environment as much as possible. It comes pre-installed with a wide assortment of Power Wires, Communication Cables and Wire ropes (guy wires, strands, messengers), plus a few Self-Supporting service wires and cables. The evolution of Quick Pole is guided by requests from the user community. The more interest there is for certain features or ability, the quicker it is added into the product. This process has worked well for us and our customers over the years. Originally created over 15 years ago to help Joint Use Partners with common design questions, it has grown considerably since then by using this process.
Quick Pole utilizes the most advanced Structural Analysis and Sag/Tension calculations available today. Both Linear and Non-Linear structural design methodologies are possible with QuickPole, depending on the needs of the user. It is optimized for use in both the US and Canadian environments with the latest NESC and CSA standards.This allows the use of one software tool everywhere, plus interesting comparisons for others. Harsher environments or specific conditions can easily be evaluated as "what if" scenarios.
Quick Pole Overview
Quick Pole is comprised of several modules that work together to create a complete
Pole Line Design solution. It comes pre-loaded with many standards and data specifications
in its Database to get you up and running in a short amount of time.
From a User perspective, most of your time will be spent Creating and Editing Pole
Line Design Projects consisting of one to many poles, anchors, wires, cables....
Standards Experts will enjoy the power of the Sags and Tensions module to experiment with how wires and/or cables behave under different Stringing Tensions and Environmental Loads. This module is also very helpful for Crossing Permits of Highways, Waterways or Railways as you can easily get Average Day and Maximum Sag values, plus deal with elevation changes.
The Database of Standards and other components is open for Users to enter their own specific data for any item; then later use that item in their Projects or Sag & Tension calculations. Sonideft can also push Organizational Standards out to all Quick Pole Users as they become available.
Quick Pole Core
The core functionality of Quick Pole centers around its ability and algorithms to
- the Calculation of Sags and Tensions for a wide range of wire, conductor and self-suporting cable,
- applying the appropriate loads to poles,
- analyzing poles for loading and structural stability using nonlinear methods,
- reviewing results for structural deficiencies and a wide variety of code checks,
- presenting the analysis results in easy to interpret and presentation methods,
- plus other features to assist the User in entering data as easy and error-free as possible.
